About The Position

Invictus Academy of Richmond is seeking exceptional individuals to join their team as athletic coaches for the Winter Athletics Season (Girls' Soccer). The academy is a high-performing independent public charter school serving grades 7-12, with a mission to prepare students for college, problem-solving, and confident communication. Requirements

  • Believe in the value of athletics as a means to teach and model the principles of fair play, teamwork, good sportsmanship, effort, and self-improvement.
  • Have the knowledge and experience to teach skills related to the sport, lead practices and conditioning for individuals and a team.
  • Be passionate about the area of coaching and have knowledge and experience with the techniques specific to the sport, including strategy, player development, and skills to develop players.
  • Be eager to develop students’ love for the sport.
  • Be professional, responsible, and collaborative with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Be able to clear TB and Livescan checks before the intended start date.
  • High school diploma or the equivalent
  • Pass a Criminal Background Check through the Department of Justice.
  • Obtain a negative TB reading prior to starting employment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with the rules, regulations, and expectations of the CIF, OAL, and BACSAC.
  • Oversee all practices and games and supervise the athletes in their use of all facilities.
  • Responsible for the care, issuing, collection, storage and inventory of all equipment and uniforms used in the program.
  • Submit to the AD a complete, cleared roster of team members and full season schedule.
  • Assist in the prevention and care of injuries.
  • Follow the appropriate procedures for budget, purchasing, and transportation.
  • Ensure that all school disciplinary policies are followed.
  • Act as liaison between the school and parents, AD and Leadership.
  • Coordinate any banquets, awards or honors with the Athletic Director.
  • Maintain a relationship with athletes based on mutual respect and trust.
  • Demonstrate regular and consistent attendance in order to perform essential functions of the role.
  • Foster open and respectful communication, offering and receiving constructive feedback to enhance personal and team performance.
  • Set and hold high expectations for academics and sportsmanship.
  • Develop trusting, authentic relationships with students and their families.
  • Encourage students to take risks and learn from their mistakes and create opportunities for students to leverage the power of their voice.
  • Supervise and engage with students in-person to ensure student safety and development.
  • Uphold and model core values, including purpose, perseverance, productivity, growth mindset, integrity, leadership, joy, gratitude, mindfulness, and kindness.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties or responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor.
