Middle School Science Teacher
About The Position
Empowerment Academy Charter School is seeking a Middle School Science Teacher for the 2026/2027 School Year and beyond, with an immediate start preferred. Certified Science Teachers are eligible for a $7,500 Critical Need Bonus. The base salary for the 2027 school year ranges from $70,000 to $90,000. The working hours are 7:15 AM to 3:05 PM, Monday through Friday. Empowerment Academy is a charter school that supports its teachers and staff, serving a diverse student population in Jersey City, Hoboken, and New York City. The school is dedicated to closing the achievement gap and providing a quality educational program. Faculty members are among the highest paid in New Jersey compared to those with similar experience. The school aims for academic success without teacher burnout by combining an effective education program with strong teacher support and professional development.
Requirements
- Hold a New Jersey Department of Education CE, CEAS or Standard Certificate in a K-12 Science, OR hold Elementary Certification with a Middle School Science (5-8) endorsement.
- Only certificated candidates should apply.
Responsibilities
- Teach middle school science.
- Plan lessons.
- Identify when students have not achieved mastery of a skill, concept, or knowledge item.
- Partner with an array of specialists to meet scholars’ diverse needs.
