About The Position

Partnership Schools is seeking a Middle School Science and Social Studies Teacher for grades 6–8 at Rosary Cathedral School in Toledo, Ohio. This role includes serving as the eighth-grade homeroom teacher for the 2026–27 school year. The position emphasizes continuous feedback and professional growth, supported by weekly school-based and network-wide professional development, coaching from leadership, and resources from organizations like Teach Like a Champion, Amplify, and Core Knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and delivering engaging, rigorous science and social studies instruction for students in grades 6–8
  • Serving as the eighth-grade homeroom teacher and supporting students’ academic, social, and personal development
  • Developing a positive, structured classroom environment that engages students and motivates them to succeed
  • Creating hands-on science learning experiences while maintaining clear classroom and laboratory safety expectations
  • Helping students build strong content knowledge, critical-thinking skills, scientific reasoning, and an understanding of history, civics, geography, and current events
  • Assuming responsibility for students’ academic progress with a high sense of urgency and ownership of measurable results
  • Collaborating with colleagues to plan units and lessons and strengthen the implementation of the school’s curriculum
  • Fulfilling the school’s mission to educate the whole child—mind, body, and spirit
  • Taking accountability for student learning and meeting classroom performance goals
  • Using assessments, classroom performance data, and diagnostic tools to evaluate student progress and guide instruction and intervention
  • Providing additional academic support to students who need intervention or enrichment
  • Communicating with students’ families in a positive, timely, and respectful manner
  • Supporting eighth-grade activities, traditions, transitions, and other responsibilities connected to the graduating class
  • Participating in ongoing professional development to grow as an instructional leader
  • Contributing to the broader life of the school through duties, events, and other responsibilities as assigned
