About The Position

Working from the Duluth, GA office, the Middle School Program Coordinator at Georgia Connections Academy is a 12-month employee school-level leader who will serve on the Middle School Leadership Team. They will support the school in driving academic and cultural outcomes for students and serve as a resource for teachers regarding student achievement, attendance, behavior, and academic integrity. Additionally, the Middle School Program Coordinator will plan and implement programs designed to increase student academic achievement. All GACA staff must be able to participate in monthly in-person activities, including but not limited to: School and department meetings, Student engagement opportunities, Required training/development, School-level events, such as state testing and graduation. This is a 12-month, full-time position.

Requirements

  • Valid teaching certification and GAPSC educational leadership certification or currently enrolled in a leadership program.
  • Must have received a rating of Effective or Highly Effective in the most recent performance reviews.

Nice To Haves

  • Valid teaching Georgia PSC certification and educational leadership certification or currently enrolled in a leadership program.
  • Previous experience in educational leadership, preferably as a teacher or coach.
  • Preferred experience leading a department.

  • Willingness to travel on occasion for marketing and state testing events (may require occasional overnight travel).
  • Must be able and willing to conduct and participate in collaborative meetings, professional development sessions, and events at the GACA office and/or other locations as needed.
  • The applicant should be prepared to attend events and meetings at the GACA office in Duluth, as well as travel to meet with students in different regions of the state throughout the year.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Middle School Principal and Assistant Principals to address day-to-day school operations and present a unified leadership team.
  • Support the school’s efforts to meet state and federal achievement targets, with a focus on identified student subgroups.
  • Lead and manage Content Area Teams by: Analyzing student performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement Collaborating with Department Leads, Instructional Coaches, and district staff to develop and implement instructional plans Monitoring the effectiveness of instructional practices and student outcomes
  • Oversee curriculum and instructional programming by: Ensuring strong Tier 1 instruction and implementation of interventions Supporting the referral process for Tier 2 interventions Leading the implementation of instructional materials and resources Using data to design targeted support plans for students and teachers
  • Monitor and evaluate academic programs (e.g., Avenues of Hope, RTI) to ensure effectiveness and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain systems for tracking student performance, engagement, and growth, including metrics such as attendance, grading, and LiveLesson participation.
  • Coordinate and support student engagement opportunities throughout the school year.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the school’s strategic plan in collaboration with staff and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate and support collaborative team structures, including action/learning teams and vertical planning.
  • Observe, supervise, and evaluate staff in accordance with district policies, including Support high-quality instruction through classroom observations, modeling, coaching, and feedback.
  • Assist with school operations, including planning, organization, and oversight of programs, policies, and procedures.
