The Miami Valley School (MVS) is seeking an innovative and culturally inclusive mathematics teacher committed to developing inquisitive, critical thinkers, focused on understanding the ‘why’ behind mathematical principles versus the ‘how’ of following a formula. As a mathematics teacher at MVS, you will primarily teach students in grades 6-8, but could be asked to teach an upper school course. Our mathematics faculty work collaboratively across divisions. Candidates should feel comfortable teaching pre algebra, algebra I, and geometry. All members of MVS’ vibrant faculty bring the school’s mission and vision to life each day for students and families in the Dayton community. Each day we live out our mission through our core values: integrity, celebration, grit, and kindness. As a part of our dynamic team, you will have the opportunity to expand global leadership, enhance cultural experiences through an inspiring Immersion Travel Learning Program, develop character and wellness through meaningful connections with students and families, innovate with the MVS Immersion Method™ programming, couple academic rigor with increased accessibility, and collaborate as part of a world-class team. You will teach four sections of mathematics ranging from middle school pre algebra to upper school geometry, typically all four sections would be with middle school students.
