About The Position

The Middle School Mathematics Strategist will support the implementation of the district’s mathematics curriculum and instructional initiatives. This role focuses on improving mathematics instruction and student achievement across middle school grades. The strategist will work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders to provide professional development, coaching, and resources to enhance mathematics education.

Requirements

Valid Nevada Teaching License with an endorsement in Mathematics (7-12) or Middle School Mathematics.
Minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching experience in middle school mathematics.
Demonstrated knowledge of effective mathematics instructional strategies and curriculum development.
Experience with data analysis and using data to inform instruction.
Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to facilitate professional development and adult learning.
Completion of the entire three (3) year work history in the "Experience and Credentials" section of the application, including periods of unemployment, schooling, and volunteer work.

Nice To Haves

Experience as a mathematics coach or instructional specialist.
Advanced degree in Mathematics Education or a related field.
Experience with curriculum mapping and alignment.
Knowledge of various assessment methods and tools.

Responsibilities

Support the implementation of the district’s mathematics curriculum and instructional initiatives.
Provide professional development and coaching to middle school mathematics teachers.
Collaborate with teachers to develop and refine lesson plans and instructional strategies.
Analyze student performance data to identify areas for improvement and inform instructional decisions.
Facilitate professional learning communities focused on mathematics instruction.
Stay current with research-based best practices in mathematics education.
Assist in the selection and evaluation of instructional materials and resources.
Support school-based instructional leadership teams in their efforts to improve mathematics achievement.
