About The Position

Colorado Springs Christian Schools (CSCS) is seeking a Middle School Math Teacher for a full-time position. Founded in 1971, CSCS is a leading Christian educational school for grades K-12, accredited by ACSI and NCA CASI. Our mission is to provide an excellent education from a Christ-centered, biblical perspective for lifelong service. This role involves integrating biblical truths into academic teachings, guiding student learning, and creating a positive classroom environment. The teacher will also mentor small peer groups and maintain accurate student records.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university
  • Has or able to obtain an Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) teacher certificate
  • Has or able to obtain CPR & First Aid training
  • Evidence of spiritual maturity and strong grasp of Christian education; ability to demonstrate true biblical integration through the subject area
  • Affirm, in writing, his/her commitment to the Doctrinal Statement annually by contract

Responsibilities

  • Effectively integrate biblical truths throughout academic teachings
  • Knowledge and experience teaching math to include algebra, college algebra, and geometry
  • Guide the learning process toward the achievement of established curriculum goals
  • Employ a variety of instructional and technological techniques and strategies to meet different aptitudes and interests of students; utilizes current technology and variable modalities including hands-on demonstrations and activities
  • Knowledge of and desire to use relevant and emerging technologies in the classroom
  • Prepares appropriately for classes and shows written evidence of preparation, including lesson plans
  • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning; includes appropriate code of conduct policy
  • Monitor and assesses academic progress; communicates with parents and administrators regarding the progress and potential of students
  • Maintains accurate, complete and up-to-date records including attendance and grades
  • Ability and desire to lead small peer groups of middle school students as a spiritual and relational mentor
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Commits and fully supports the missional and organizational standards including our Core Values, Mission Statement, Statement of Faith and Christian Beliefs, and Doctrinal Statement
  • Through effective communication, build healthy, effective relationships with students and families to support and enforce the biblical, whole-child educational experience
  • Understand curriculum and demonstrated ability to integrate subjects into interdisciplinary units as appropriate
  • Participate in curriculum and staff development training
  • Participate in before / after school activities as requested by Administrator
  • Work well with other teachers, support staff and administrators
  • Supervises students in out-of-classroom activities during the school day as well as an occasional evening activity as assigned
  • Maintains a safe and orderly classroom to promote an inviting place for students to learn and to inhibit relational aggression
  • Is competent with tests, assessments, and the use of data in making educational decisions
  • Supervise teacher aides and volunteers as assigned
