About The Position

Matchbook Learning at Wendell Phillips School 63 is seeking a passionate and student-centered Middle School Math Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
  • Valid Indiana teaching license or eligible out-of-state certification
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced school environment
  • Commitment to educational equity and student achievement

Nice To Haves

  • Two or more years of teaching experience
  • Experience working in urban, diverse, or historically underserved communities
  • Demonstrated success driving student growth and achievement
  • Familiarity with educational technology and digital learning tools
  • Experience analyzing student data to inform instruction

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging daily math instruction aligned to Indiana state standards
  • Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Differentiate instruction to support students performing below, on, and above grade level
  • Create learning experiences that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and student engagement
  • Establish and maintain a structured, respectful, and positive classroom culture
  • Build strong relationships with students while maintaining high behavioral and academic expectations
  • Foster a classroom environment where students feel safe, valued, and encouraged to take academic risks
  • Monitor student progress using formal and informal assessments
  • Analyze student data to guide instruction and intervention
  • Provide timely feedback to students and families regarding academic progress
  • Collaborate with intervention staff and support teams to ensure student success
  • Partner with colleagues, instructional coaches, administrators, and support staff to improve student outcomes
  • Maintain consistent communication with families through conferences, ParentSquare, phone calls, and other communication methods
  • Contribute positively to the school culture and professional community
  • Participate in professional development, coaching, staff meetings, and collaborative planning
  • Remain open to feedback and committed to continuous improvement
  • Support the overall mission and vision of Matchbook Learning
