About The Position

Cross Country Education is seeking a dedicated Middle School Math Special Education Teacher in Clinton Township, Michigan. The teacher provides individualized mathematics instruction to middle school students receiving special education resource services, with a focus on foundational skills and academic growth. The position is based in a school setting and is scheduled for 31.25 hours per week.

The teacher develops, implements, and monitors Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), including math-specific goals, accommodations, and student progress. The role also involves adapting and modifying the general education math curriculum to meet students’ diverse learning needs and instructional levels, and collaborating with general education teachers, support staff, and families to assess needs, track progress, and promote academic success.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Valid Michigan Standard or Professional Teaching Certificate with an appropriate elementary education endorsement or approved grade-band certification.
• Valid Michigan K–12 special education endorsement, such as Learning Disabilities (SM), Cognitive Impairment (SA), Emotional Impairment (SE), or Autism Spectrum Disorder (SV).
• Meets Michigan Department of Education requirements for providing direct middle school mathematics instruction through an appropriate math endorsement or demonstrated mathematics content competency.
