About The Position

Christel House Indianapolis is currently seeking a Middle School Interventionist at Academy West. This position provides support to students needing additional assistance in meeting academic standards, through small group, individual and co-instructional methods. The role involves collaborating with teaching faculty to identify students below standards, assisting them with assignments, monitoring their progress, and providing re-teaching and tutoring sessions. The Interventionist will implement instructional programs under teacher supervision and attend relevant meetings. The position requires an agreement with the mission and goals of Christel House Schools, which are grounded in the values of responsibility, respect, integrity, and independence.

Requirements

Associate degree with some training/exposure to education and teaching OR network equivalent
Ability and willingness to work collaboratively, maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Competency in using technology.
Ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
An agreement with the mission statement and goals of Christel House Schools.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Ability to reach with hands and arms.
Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Responsibilities

In collaboration with teaching faculty, identifies students who are below standards in specific skills and knowledge.
Assist students with assignments that reinforce learning concepts.
Monitor individual and/or groups of students for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.
Maintain a record of interventions and progress monitoring.
Provide ‘re-teaching’ and tutoring sessions around core instruction that was delivered by the classroom teacher.
Implement, under the supervision of the teacher, instructional programs and lesson plans for the purpose of presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts.
Attend meetings and in-service presentations for the purpose of acquiring and/or conveying information relative to job functions.
