About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and student-centered Middle School Intervention Specialist to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will provide specialized instruction and support for students with diverse learning needs while fostering an inclusive, structured, and engaging classroom environment. This position carries a caseload of approximately 14–17 students. Position Summary The Middle School Intervention Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing individualized educational programming for students with disabilities in accordance with IEP goals and state standards. The specialist will collaborate closely with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to support student growth academically, socially, and behaviorally.

Requirements

  • Valid state licensure/certification as an Intervention Specialist or Special Education Teacher
  • Experience working with middle school students preferred
  • Knowledge of special education laws, procedures, and best practices
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and families
  • Experience with progress monitoring tools and data-driven instruction preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students on caseload
  • Provide direct instruction in academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and executive functioning skills
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and learning styles
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure accommodations and modifications are implemented effectively
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation related to IEPs, progress monitoring, evaluations, and compliance requirements
  • Conduct progress monitoring and use data to drive instructional decisions
  • Foster positive relationships with students, families, and staff
  • Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and professional development opportunities
  • Support students in inclusion, resource room, and/or small-group instructional settings
  • Implement behavior intervention plans and classroom management strategies as needed
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations
