About The Position

Zeta is seeking passionate Middle School Humanities Teachers to join their team in New York City. The organization is dedicated to providing a world-class education that combines high academic achievement with social-emotional development. Zeta operates multiple elementary and middle schools and is expanding to include a high school in the 2026-27 school year. They are looking for educators who are change agents and committed to improving public education.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 1-2+ years of lead teaching experience
  • Proven record of propelling extraordinary student growth
  • Permanent authorization to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Plan inquiry-driven, academically rigorous History and/or ELA lessons that spark curiosity, deepen understanding, and empower all students to engage meaningfully with learning.
  • Build a vibrant, inclusive classroom culture that nurtures a genuine love of learning and strengthens the sense of community among students and families.
  • Internalize and deeply master Zeta’s academic and social-emotional curriculum, developing the skills and knowledge to deliver exceptional instruction each day.
  • Champion Zeta’s ambitious academic goals —including ensuring that 90%+ of students achieve on or above grade level in History and/or ELA —and work relentlessly to help every student reach those outcomes.
  • Utilize data, student work, and research-based resources to drive student achievement and continuously refine your teaching practice.
  • Develop strong, authentic relationships with students and families to support each child’s academic growth and personal development.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues and engage in weekly professional learning, embracing coaching and feedback as you grow into a highly effective educator.
