About The Position

BelovED Academy Charter School is hiring a Middle School Writing Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. BelovED Community Charter School is a successful charter school that supports its teachers and serves a diverse student population in Jersey City, Hoboken, and New York City. The school balances an effective education program with strong teacher support and professional development, focusing resources on faculty well-being. Faculty members are among the highest paid in New Jersey for their experience, and teachers are part of the Teachers’ Pension and Annuity Fund (TPAF), with the ability to transfer pension credits between traditional public and charter schools.

Requirements

Must hold New Jersey Department of Education certification (a CE, CEAS or Standard certificate).
To teach Writing/English/ELA at the middle school level, candidates may hold either "English" certification or "Elementary Teacher" plus a "Middle School Language Arts-Literacy" endorsement.

Apply school and classroom rules consistently and effectively, using preventive discipline and supervising students on school grounds.
Collaborate with special education and ELL staff to implement programs and comply with regulations.
Participate in professional development sessions and planning meetings as part of a professional learning community.
Assist and gain assistance from grade-level peers within professional learning communities.
