About The Position

Our Lady of Mount Carmel School in Essex, MD, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Middle School Cheer Head Coach for the 2026-2027 academic year. The ideal candidate will be passionate about developing student-athletes both on and off the field, demonstrating strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. The role emphasizes promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and school pride within a faith-filled environment.

Requirements

Knowledge of cheer fundamentals, athlete development, and performance strategy.
Experience working with middle school students.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
Commitment to fostering teamwork, accountability, and character within the program.

Nice To Haves

Previous cheer or coaching experience preferred, ideally at the middle school level.
CPR/First Aid certification preferred

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and conduct all team practices, training sessions, and games.
Develop and implement strategies to promote individual player growth and team success.
Foster a positive, disciplined, and faith-filled team culture.
Supervise and mentor assistant coaches and student-athletes.
Communicate effectively with players, parents, school administration, and athletic staff.
Coordinate game preparation, scheduling needs, equipment, and team logistics.
Promote academic achievement, sportsmanship, and character development among athletes.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes.
Maintain compliance with school and league policies and procedures.
Perform additional duties as assigned in support of the athletic program.
