About The Position

The Middle School Boys Soccer Coach is responsible for carrying out the aims and objectives of the sports program as outlined by the Athletic Director. This role involves instructing athletes in individual and team fundamentals, strategy, and physical training to achieve success. The coach will assist the head coach with various administrative and logistical tasks, ensure athlete eligibility and safety, and manage team discipline.

Requirements

• Has knowledge and background in the assigned sport.
• Has taken a course workshop or has proof of competency in first aid.
• Has a certificate or completion of a class in CPR.

Nice To Haves

• Teaching certificate and experience preferred.
• Previous coaching experience in assigned sports is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assists the head coach in scheduling and providing transportation to tournaments and special events.
• Completes the necessary preparation to hold scheduled sports events or practices and adheres to scheduled facilities.
• Provides documentation to the Athletic Director to fulfill state and system requirements concerning physical examinations, parental consent, and eligibility.
• Provides proper safeguards for the maintenance and protection of assigned equipment and sites.
• Provides training rules and any other unique regulations of the sport to each athlete who is considered a participant.
• Provides assistance and guidance to and safeguards for each participant during all practices, games, and while traveling.
• Directs student managers and statisticians.
• Determines discipline and delineates procedures concerning due process when the enforcement of discipline is necessary.
• Contacts parents when a student is dropped or becomes ineligible.
