About The Position

This position is for a Middle School Boys Basketball Coach within the Fruitport Community Schools Athletic Department. The coach will work with and support the head coach in leading and instructing the entire program, focusing on player development, leadership, and character. The role requires a strong understanding of basketball skills and the ability to communicate and demonstrate them effectively, as well as identify and solve technical and tactical problems. The coach must model and support the athletic program and school's mission, handling interactions with student athletes and adults professionally and with integrity, while balancing personal and professional duties with coaching responsibilities.

Requirements

• Current CPR certification.
• Organized, professional, and committed to the policies and procedures of FHS and the MHSAA.

Nice To Haves

• Successful coaching experience of at least two years.
• Valid teaching certificate or a degreed program in education or coaching.
• Experience in physical education, first aid, and sports medicine.
• Certificate in CAP (Coaches Advancement Program) or equivalent.
