About The Position

Colorado Springs Christian Schools (CSCS), founded in 1971, is a leading Christian educational institution for grades K-12. CSCS is accredited by ACSI and NCA CASI. All employees are considered ministers of the Gospel and are expected to integrate biblical truths into their daily responsibilities, including leading devotions, prayer, and Scripture reading. This role involves effectively integrating biblical truths throughout academic teachings, guiding the learning process, and employing various instructional techniques to meet diverse student needs. The teacher will prepare lessons, create a positive classroom environment, monitor student progress, and maintain accurate records. Additionally, the position requires mentoring small peer groups of middle school students and fully supporting the school's mission, values, and doctrinal statements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university
  • Has or able to obtain an Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) teacher certificate
  • Has or able to obtain CPR & First Aid training
  • Demonstrates a spiritual maturity in attitude, actions and speech, showing a consistent walk with Jesus Christ
  • In all work, is sensitive to the spiritual needs of students and parents, and co-workers
  • Knowledge of and desire to use relevant and emerging technologies in the classroom
  • Affirm, in writing, commitment to the Doctrinal Statement annually by contract

Responsibilities

  • Effectively integrate biblical truths throughout academic teachings
  • Guide the learning process toward the achievement of established curriculum goals
  • Employ a variety of instructional and technological techniques and strategies to meet different aptitudes and interests of students; utilizes current technology and variable modalities including hands-on demonstrations and activities
  • Prepares appropriately for classes and shows written evidence of preparation, including lesson plans
  • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning; includes appropriate code of conduct policy
  • Monitor and assesses academic progress; communicates with parents and administrators regarding the progress and potential of students
  • Maintains accurate, complete and up-to-date records including attendance and grades
  • Ability and desire to lead small peer groups of middle school students as a spiritual and relational mentor
  • Commits and fully supports the missional and organizational standards including our Core Values, Mission Statement, Statement of Faith and Christian Beliefs, and Doctrinal Statement
  • Evidence of spiritual maturity and strong grasp of Christian education; ability to demonstrate true biblical integration through the subject area
  • Through effective communication, build healthy, effective relationships with students and families to support and enforce the biblical, whole-child educational experience
  • Understanding of curriculum and demonstrated ability to integrate subjects into interdisciplinary units as appropriate
  • Participate in curriculum and staff development training
  • Participate in before / after school activities as requested by Administrator
  • Work well with other teachers, support staff and administrators
  • Supervises students in out-of-classroom activities during the school day as well as an occasional evening activity as assigned
  • Maintains a safe and orderly classroom to promote an inviting place for students to learn and to inhibit relational aggression
  • Is competent with tests, assessments, and the use of data in making educational decisions
  • Supervise teacher aides and volunteers as assigned

Benefits

  • Salary: $34,300 - $42,000 yearly
