About The Position

Corunna Public Schools is looking for the best person available to serve as a Middle School Assistant Swimming Coach. The district's mission statement is to prepare an unprecedented number of students to be college and/or career-ready daily. The district is known for offering quality education in a small-town environment with the amenities of a larger community. The county's cost of living is incredibly low. The school is a class “B” school with a reputation for higher standards and has an award-winning inclusive preschool. The school is the community “hub,” and Homecoming is still a big deal in this small town, which is the county seat. The community is incredibly supportive of the district. The district has high-achieving athletic teams and award-winning extra-curricular programs. Despite having many students coming via school of choice, constituents passed a pair of bond proposals since 2015. All active Corunna employees can enroll themselves and their family in the state’s first onsite Cavalier Family Health Clinic, which aims to provide (in almost all situations) free visits, free prescriptions, and other medical procedures for the active employee and their immediate family members.

Requirements

• Ability to motivate and work with student athletes.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the sport of application is preferred.
• Possibly some athletic training experience or appropriate first aid.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, lasting relationships with student-athletes while teaching the fundamentals of the sport.
• Develop positive relationships with student-athletes.
• Effectively communicate with parents / stakeholders.
• Develop a passion for the sport, competition, and teamwork.
• Work with other coaches and the athletic director to help strengthen the program.
