Rocky Mountain Prep (RMP) is seeking a Middle School Art Teacher for the SY26/27 school year at the Federal Campus. RMP is a network of college-preparatory schools dedicated to changing public education in Colorado by providing equitable access to higher education for historically marginalized students and families. Art is considered an essential component of a college-preparatory education at RMP, with art classrooms functioning as rigorous studios where students develop technical skills, creative confidence, and critical habits of mind such as observation, analysis, revision, and perseverance. Art teachers are responsible for designing their own standards-aligned curriculum and authentic performance tasks that involve scholars in creating, critiquing, revising, and presenting original work connected to meaningful themes and diverse artistic traditions. These tasks are designed to be collaborative, reflective, and celebratory, incorporating structured critique, analysis of exemplars, artist statements, and exhibitions that highlight growth and excellence. The curriculum is aligned with the Colorado Academic Standards to ensure rigor and transparency, while also promoting equitable access to high-quality instruction. By centering diverse artists and fostering a culture of feedback and revision, RMP aims to empower every scholar to see themselves as capable artists.
