About The Position

Flagstaff Academy is seeking a full-time Middle School Art Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The candidate will be responsible for teaching students in grades six through eight. This position requires close collaboration with the Middle School Team to ensure a meaningful scope and sequence for the middle school Core Knowledge curriculum. The ideal candidate will be a talented educator who can inspire students and teachers, aligning with the school's mission of 'where science and technology take flight.' The successful candidate is expected to deliver dynamic educational experiences with high educational expectations and accountability.

Requirements

Current Colorado teaching license
Ability to interpret and communicate student data
Strong systems orientation and commitment to follow-through
Experience working with middle school students
Good communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively
Excellent communication skills
Effective instructional delivery techniques

Nice To Haves

Three years teaching experience preferred

Responsibilities

Designing instruction for mixed-ability middle school art classes.
Assessing student progress in art using an art portfolio system.
Preparing students and their work for various art shows, displays, and events.
Integrating technology into art curriculum, instruction, and methods.
Working closely with families.
Forming positive relationships with adolescents.
Differentiating instruction and meeting the needs of all students.
Implementing a student-centered pedagogy with a focus on teaching language arts through investigation and inquiry.

PERA Retirement - In lieu of Social Security, public employees in the state of Colorado contribute to a tax-deferred retirement account that is administered by Colorado PERA. Employees contribute 11% of monthly earnings while Flagstaff Academy contributes 21.4% to the PERA pension trust fund on the employee’s behalf
Life/AD&D insurance - Flagstaff Academy provides a Life/AD&D insurance policy with a $40,000 benefit for each eligible employee
