About The Position

American Heritage School is seeking a Middle School Aide for a part-time position. The aide will assist teachers with classroom management, grading, teaching, and mentoring students in various subjects including language arts, literature, writing, history, and geography. This role also involves general teacher and student support and may require substituting for the teacher. It is considered a faith-forming role where aides are expected to actively support, model, and teach principles consistent with the Mission and values of AHS and the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Responsibilities

  • Assist teachers with classroom management
  • Assist teachers with grading
  • Assist teachers with teaching
  • Mentor students in language arts, literature, writing, history, and geography
  • Provide general teacher and student support
  • Substitute for the teacher when needed
  • Integrate faith-based principles and moral reasoning into classroom instruction
  • Serve as an example of Christian character and discipleship to students
  • Support and uphold the spiritual mission of the school through daily interactions
  • Participate in school-wide devotionals, prayer, and other faith-centered activities
  • Respond thoughtfully to student questions related to faith, values, and moral decision-making
  • Be professional in appearance and demeanor
  • Serve as ambassadors for the AHS Mission, Honor Code, and Diversity Statement
  • Ensure personal conduct, public statements, and online presence reflect and support the school's religious mission and educational purpose
  • Create and post assignments with clear instructions, models, and rubrics
