About The Position

The Middle Office Trade & Transaction Analyst / Associate provides operational expertise, independent governance, and risk-control oversight to ensure the timely, accurate, and complete management of transactions and collateral assets for the bank. The role has a specialized focus on Residential Real Estate and U.S. ABS Mortgage Warehouse Lending, supporting the integrity, movement, and reporting of collateral and loan documentation while ensuring effective risk management across the transaction lifecycle. Working closely with Front Office, Operations, Technology, Legal, Finance, and other internal stakeholders, the analyst performs critical control functions related to collateral onboarding, mortgage asset uploads and reviews, borrowing base validation, advance rate determination, concentration limit monitoring, exposure management, and collateral movement activities. The role ensures the accuracy and integrity of data maintained across LoanIQ, Loan Information Processing System (LIPS), and other internal platforms. The analyst provides technical, transactional, and logistical expertise to support business objectives while maintaining the appropriate balance of quality, flexibility, control, and cost. Through strong partnership and collaboration across businesses and divisions, the role helps maximize operational control, minimize risk, and deliver exceptional service to internal stakeholders and, where appropriate, external clients. As a developing or established Subject Matter Expert (SME), the analyst contributes to the enhancement of operational processes, market practices, and technology platforms. The role builds and manages cross-functional partnerships to ensure business objectives are achieved in compliance with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and evolving business needs. The analyst also supports new business initiatives and helps ensure full front-to-back operational readiness for transactions ranging from high-volume warehouse funding activity to complex structured financing arrangements. In an environment characterized by regulatory change, evolving market dynamics, and increasing operational complexity, the analyst is expected to apply strong analytical judgment, attention to detail, and innovative thinking to identify process improvements, strengthen controls, mitigate operational risk, and drive efficiencies that protect the bank and its shareholders while supporting continued business growth.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to review collateral data, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues timely.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date collateral records.
  • Experience with LIPS and understanding of collateral management processes preferred.
  • Experience with LoanIQ preferred.
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, graphs, functions, lookups, and if statements.
  • Robust experience using SharePoint and Power Automate.
  • Understanding of loan accounting, borrowing bases, advance rates, and collateral margining concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and master new concepts, systems, and control requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the deal pipeline and supporting trade/transaction execution from initial booking through downstream operational readiness.
  • Supporting the disbursement of funds, management of incoming cash transactions, and complex revenue calculations in accordance with business requirements and established controls.
  • Reviewing complex lending legal agreements to extract key economic attributes and ensure accurate operational setup, maintenance, and control execution.
  • Monitoring and managing the movement of collateral and loan documents across counterparties, ensuring adherence to established procedures and timely resolution of discrepancies or delays.
  • Maintaining accurate, complete, and up-to-date collateral records in LIPS and related internal systems to reflect the status of collateral assets and loan documentation.
  • Performing independent control functions related to the upload, review, and ongoing monitoring of underlying mortgage assets supporting US ABS Mortgage warehouse lines.
  • Validating Borrowing Bases, determining Advance Rates, and monitoring Concentration Limits for ABS US transactions subject to margining based on fair value collateral or market value triggers.
  • Managing daily exposure and collateral movements for an assigned portfolio of clients, including prompt response to margin calls and collateral-related requests.
  • Reviewing for accuracy and executing mortgage release letters/deeds of reconveyance in accordance with established controls and business requirements.
  • Building and managing partnerships across internal businesses, including Front Office, Operations, Technology, and other stakeholders, to support business objectives, regulatory requirements, operational controls, and platform improvements.
  • Working as part of a team to ensure full front-to-back operational readiness for products ranging from high-volume vanilla trading to highly complex structured transactions.
  • Operating in a high-pressure, risk-control environment as a self-starter with strong organization, analytical judgment, attention to detail, independent ownership, and appropriate escalation of self-identified risks or control gaps.
