2026-2027 School Year: Middle/High School Supplemental Special Education Teacher
About The Position
We have an opening for a Middle/High School Supplemental Special Education Teacher at our IB campus for the upcoming school year. New employees are expected to attend New Teacher Orientation on August 13th & 14th, and the week of staff professional development beginning August 17th. First day of school for students is August 24, 2026. The Supplemental Special Education Teacher will lead a self-contained classroom serving students with significant learning and/or behavioral needs. The teacher will provide specialized instruction aligned to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), create a structured and supportive classroom environment, and collaborate with staff and families to support student growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
- Pennsylvania Department of Education Certification: Special Education PK-12 or 7-12
- Understanding and commitment to inclusive learning
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Strong research, planning, and organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to positively interact with students to encourage development
- Experience with MS Office, Google
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience with International Baccalaureate MYP and/or DP programs
- Prior experience in a self-contained classroom
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver specially designed instruction tailored to student needs
- Develop, implement, and manage IEPs in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Create a structured classroom environment that supports academic, social, and behavioral growth
- Collect, analyze, and report student data to monitor progress toward IEP goals
- Implement behavior plans and utilize positive behavior supports
