About The Position

Indian Creek School is seeking a Middle and Upper School Mathematics Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a full-time position for an independent, co-ed day school with approximately 600 students aged 3 to Grade 12. The school is located on a beautiful, 114-acre campus in Crownsville, Maryland. Requirements

  • Ability to teach multiple levels of math, including Geometry and Algebra 1
  • Desire to be actively engaged in the work of innovative teaching, diversity and inclusion, and ongoing professional growth.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (Master’s preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a member of the collaborative Middle and Upper School faculty, teaching four sections of mathematics, including Geometry and Algebra 1.
  • Show interest in knowing, caring for, challenging, and supporting students as individuals.
  • Plan and implement effective lessons and units.
  • Use a variety of assessments to measure and respond to student learning and engagement.
  • Integrate technology, such as Desmos STAR, to assess and build students’ understanding of math concepts.
  • Use ICS technology systems, including the School’s Learning Management System, to provide students with course materials and feedback.
  • Team with the math department in designing curriculum and elevating student confidence and performance in mathematics.
  • Maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and staff members.
  • Work with the Upper School Principal, Middle School Principal and faculty to ensure high-quality education and an engaging experience for students.
  • Write student reports as required.
  • Serve as an academic advisor to a group of students.
  • Attend all divisional, departmental, and school faculty meetings, including professional development days.
