About The Position

The JASSM Mid Targeting Analyst will be responsible for developing targets and target systems for joint lethal and/or non-lethal engagements. This role involves creating target nominations, database records, and target intelligence products. The analyst will also produce all-source analytic damage estimates and battle damage assessments, assist with combat assessment requirements, conduct collateral damage estimation, perform target list management, target strategy development, and provide joint target intelligence support to deliberate and dynamic target engagements. Additionally, the analyst will provide recommendations for target prioritization to achieve commander objectives for plans and operations, and manage database nominations, creation, updates, and upload TMs into databases.

Requirements

  • Experience with the modernized integrated database (MIDB) and tools that interact with MIDB, specifically Joint Targeting Toolbox (JTT) and National Production Workshop (NPW).
  • AF targeting related operational experience inclusive of tactical aircraft operations, targeting or weaponeering experience.
  • Knowledge of AF JASSM missile parameters, Precision Targeting Module (PTM) and JASSM Enterprise Management System (JEMS) operating systems and weapon system routing and visualization capabilities.
  • Knowledge of NTM imaging systems and tasking procedures and National Geospatial Agency imagery delivery systems (NGDS, CIL, NIL, iStore, etc.) is also required.
  • Knowledge of the IC Enterprise
  • Knowledge of Air Force and Joint targeting doctrine.
  • Broad understanding of AF intelligence functions and the targeting cycle.
  • Familiarization with the JASSM production workflow systems, databases, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to include, but not limited to, JASSM Enterprise Management System (JEMS), On Target, Joint Targeting Toolkit (JTT), National Production Workshop (NPW), and Google Earth.
  • Excellent presentation skills, organization skills, analytic skills, problem solving ability, and attention to detail.
  • At least 6 years of experience conducting analysis relevant to the specific labor category with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, or have associate’s degree from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and an additional 4 years of related experience, for a total of 10 years, as a substitute to the bachelor’s degree.

  • Demonstrates ability to structure analysis based on trends in reporting and a range of analytic perspectives from other analysts, organizations, and intelligence disciplines.
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently with minimal oversight and direction.
  • Demonstrates ability to collaborate and work with other IC members on information sharing, driving collection, and addressing analytic disputes and conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrates ability to develop concise, insightful, and comprehensive products for defense intelligence.
  • Demonstrates ability to lead teams in researching multifaceted or critical problems.
  • Provides guidance in selecting, designing, and applying analytic methodologies.
  • Uses argument evaluation and validated analytic methodologies to challenge differing perspectives.
