About The Position

KBR's National Security Solutions team is seeking a Mid-Senior Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) Systems Engineer to support a Science and Engineering Technical Support contract for the United States Space Force (USSF). This full-time, on-site position at the Aerospace complex in El Segundo, CA, involves developing government reference and portfolio level architectures aligned with future US Space Force (USSF) force design and enabling enterprise-level interoperability and flexibility. The role requires close collaboration with SSC personnel, applying critical thinking to solutions for National Security Space (NSS) customers, and supporting the USSF's objective of being the first "digital force" through expertise in Digital Engineering and MBSE. An active TS/SCI clearance is mandatory, with clearability to SAP required.

Requirements

  • An active TS/SCI clearance is required to be considered for this position.
  • 5+ years of relevant technical experience in aerospace.
  • 5-10 years of applied experience using Model-based System Engineering (MBSE) tools such as SPARX or CAMEO.
  • BS in engineering, computer science or equivalent experience
  • Independent problem solving with a variety of mission architecture systems engineering abilities, including knowledge and experience in requirements development and analysis.
  • Ability to work effectively with customers and program stakeholders and have robust written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be clearable to SAP.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in engineering.
  • Experience with classified programs.
  • Mission Engineering experience is a plus.
  • Experience in Space system design, development, production and acquisition.
  • Experience with technical mentorship.
  • Object Management Group Certified Systems Modeling Professional (OCSMP) Level 1 and 2.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and develop products in Working Groups that address the design/development, production, and integration of Space Control systems.
  • Build an understand of the adversarial threats-based kill chains facing US space assets.
  • Facilitate/develop/present resolution of issues related to system-of-systems integration.
  • Develop and maintain mission architecture interface requirements for Space Control programs.
  • Perform cross-mission area architecture development through the identification of potential synergies and efficiencies across multiple mission areas based off of existing roadmaps and SSC Program Directorate-developed architectures.
  • Evaluate and characterize the known trade-space and ensure requirements mapping of newly developed enterprise-level cross-mission area architectures.
  • Develop candidate architectures that resolve common functions into common/enterprise solutions and reduce the cost associated with acquiring and maintaining multiple systems to achieve the same function.
  • Collect, analyze, and report on data collected during system-of-systems integration events.
  • Develop MBSE models at all levels using Cameo and/or Sparx.
