About The Position

DeNOVO Solutions is seeking a Mid-Level Systems Engineer to support the design, integration, and sustainment of complex software systems within mission-critical environments. In this role, you will decompose system capabilities into services and components, develop architecture artifacts, and coordinate integration efforts across teams. Your ability to bridge system design with operational needs will be key to delivering scalable and reliable mission solutions. A Day in the Life Develop and maintain system architecture and interface artifacts including ICDs, sequence diagrams, and data flow diagrams. Decompose system capabilities into services and components while documenting interfaces and dependencies. Support planning and execution of system integration efforts including strategy development, interface coordination, and test events. Collaborate with development teams to ensure alignment between system design and implementation. Utilize Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence for backlog management and documentation. Support API design and documentation using OpenAPI/Swagger. Participate in design reviews and communicate technical solutions across stakeholders. Contribute to CI/CD workflows using GitLab pipelines and environment promotion strategies.

Requirements

  • Experience with system architecture and design, including decomposition of capabilities into services and components.
  • Extensive experience producing and maintaining architecture and interface artifacts such as ICDs, sequence diagrams, data flow diagrams, and dependency maps.
  • Experience planning and executing system integration efforts including integration strategy, interface coordination, and test events.
  • Experience working within SMF environments and services.
  • Knowledge of AWS fundamentals including networking, compute, storage, and IAM.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native technologies including Docker, Helm, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with CI/CD using GitLab including pipelines, runners, and artifact management.
  • Experience with API design and documentation using OpenAPI/Swagger.
  • Extensive experience with Atlassian tools including Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience developing CONOPS and translating operational workflows into system requirements and interfaces.
  • Knowledge of GRID deployment processes as applicable to the target environment.
  • Strong stakeholder communication skills including cross-team coordination, technical writing, and design reviews.
  • Two (2) to Five (5) years of Systems Engineering experience on software system projects.
  • Professional experience supporting systems engineering activities.
  • TS/SCI with CI Polygraph

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with mission context such as HIVE (preferably).
  • Understanding of data and storage fundamentals including SQL/NoSQL, data modeling, caching, and backup/restore strategies (preferably).
  • Experience with message/event systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Pub/Sub (preferably).
  • Linux proficiency including shell usage, services, and troubleshooting (preferably).
  • Programming or scripting experience in languages such as Go, Python, Rust, or Java (preferably).
