About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Mid-Level Software Engineer (SEG2) to support a large support services contract with the Naval Sea Systems Command. Mid-Level YOU MUST BE ABLE TO OBTAIN AN ACTIVE DOD SECRET CLEARANCE Position Description: You will provide support to the Program and Deputy Program Manager of a 200-person contractor team that includes subcontractor personnel. Work location and telework: The government work location is the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, DC. Contractors will be required to work at the Navy Yard and in nearby office locations up to 5 days a week. Teleworking may be possible with the customers’ approval but will need to evolve as the work relationships evolve.

Requirements

Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as engineering or mathematics (e.g. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems)
3 Years experience working with software engineering

Nice To Haves

Active Secret Clearance
Certificates: Project Management Professional (PMP)
Experience: 3 Years experience working with at least one of the following: Surface Radars, Electronic Warfare, EO/IR, Decoys and/or Laser software system/subsystem design, development, production and/or test experience
Demonstrated knowledge of Navy/DOD policy and guidance
System Engineering Technical Reviews
Technology readiness and technical performance measures
Combat Systems Integration and requirements decomposition
Model Based Systems Engineering
Program Protection
Risk Management Process

Responsibilities

Software Engineers research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs.
Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
Update or enhance existing software capabilities.
Work with other functional disciplines (e.g., project management, acquisition, logistics, security, etc.) to integrate hardware and software systems, develop specifications, and performance requirements.
Maintain databases within an application area.
