About The Position

The Boeing Company Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Mid-Level Quality Engineer to join their team located in Ridley Park, PA. This position involves representing the Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation. The role requires providing Quality interpretation of requirements, developing quality metrics, and designing production certification plans for small programs to ensure compliance. The engineer will conduct capability assessments, process validations, participate in design reviews, perform analysis, tests, and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness. Additionally, responsibilities include providing material review dispositions for non-conformances, analyzing non-conformance trends, recommending corrective actions, and performing benchmarking to achieve specified process capability levels. This position operates under general direction and is expected to be 100% onsite.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 3+ years of experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • 3+ years of experience with quality Inspection and/or auditing
  • 3+ years of experience with root cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA) methods
  • 3+ years of experience working with Non-conformance (NCR) processes

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years of experience in aerospace, fabrication, or manufacturing environment
  • 1+ years of experience performing quantitative or statistical analysis, data collection, preparation and interpretation

Responsibilities

  • Represents Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation.
  • Provides Quality interpretation of requirements.
  • Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for small programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.
  • Conducts capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities.
  • Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.
  • Performs analysis, tests and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
  • Provides material review dispositions for non-conformances.
  • Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Recommends corrective actions to address non-conformances.
  • Performs benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.
