Requirements

BS in Geology, Hydrogeology, Hydrology, Engineering Geology, Civil Engineering, or related discipline
1 – 5+ years of work experience
Strong analytical, technical writing, organization, and communication skills
Ability to work individually and as part of a team
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Ability and willingness to travel locally and out of the area as necessary. Approximately 15% overnight travel
Must pass drug test, background check, and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving policy

Nice To Haves

MS with coursework in hydrogeology, hydrology, groundwater modeling, and GIS
Familiarity with Microsoft Access and ESRI ArcGIS software to manage and visualize data
Familiarity with development, calibration, and application of numerical models of groundwater flow and solute transport using MODFLOW and MT3D or other software
Knowledge of scripting languages (R, Python, VBA)
Familiarity with automated parameter optimization for model calibration using PEST or other tools
Familiarity with modeling of unsaturated flow using Hydrus, VS2D, or other software
Familiarity with numerical analysis of aquifer test data using AQTESOLV and other methods
40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification (if not, Wood will provide)
Geologist in Training or Engineer in Training in the State of California

Responsibilities

Will work both in the field and in the office on water resources and environmental projects with the schedule to be determined by project needs
Compile, analyze, and interpret geologic, hydrogeologic, hydrologic, and geochemical data
Work with more senior staff to develop and apply numerical models of groundwater flow, vadose zone flow, and solute transport
Set up field projects, including permitting; coordinating with staff, laboratories, and subcontractors; and obtaining necessary equipment
Conduct field work including drilling and well construction oversight, soil sampling and logging, groundwater monitoring, soil gas sampling, aquifer testing, field mapping, and trench logging
Ensure projects are performed safely
Prepare draft technical reports, including technical writing, development of report tables, and figures
Will travel to project sites locally and out of the area as necessary. Approximately 15% overnight travel
