Mid-level Full stack Developer- Data API Platform
About The Position
We're looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer to help build and enhance an enterprise API platform that enables secure data exchange across mission-critical applications. You'll work on modern cloud-native services, secure file transfer capabilities, developer-facing APIs, and authentication services that are used across a large-scale technology ecosystem. This is an opportunity to work on highly visible platform engineering initiatives where you'll own features end-to-end—from backend services and cloud infrastructure to lightweight Angular interfaces supporting developer experiences. If you enjoy building scalable APIs, working in AWS, and contributing to modern engineering practices, this role offers significant technical breadth and growth. The engineer will support Client's enterprise Data API Platform. Primary focus is backend API development supporting developer.finra.org and related API services. Works on the FileX secure file transfer platform and broader API ecosystem. Environment includes API credential management through the FINRA Gateway, including API console functionality for credential creation and password management. Limited UI work—primarily maintaining Angular components rather than building complex frontends.
Requirements
- Strong backend development experience with REST APIs.
- Hands-on AWS experience including Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, and other core AWS services.
- Experience with MongoDB.
- CI/CD experience with Jenkins and exposure to GitLab.
- Ability to build, deploy, and support cloud-native API services.
Nice To Haves
- Angular experience (light UI work only—not a frontend-heavy role).
- Experience supporting developer platforms, API portals, or authentication/credential management systems.
