About The Position

As a Mid-Level Frontend Engineer, you'll play an important role in building the new game frontend framework and delivering high-quality game experiences. Working closely with the Lead and Senior Engineers, you'll contribute to core engine features, game functionality, and technical improvements while continuing to develop your expertise in modern frontend game development. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving technical challenges, working within a collaborative team, and building performance-focused applications from the ground up.

Requirements

  • Strong commercial experience with TypeScript
  • Experience with any modern frontend framework, such as React, Angular or Vue
  • Knowledge of OOP, programming principles (e.g. SOLID), Design Patterns, code quality and algorithms
  • Experience building complex web applications, interactive experiences, dynamic scaling across devices, or browser-based games
  • Experience working within Agile development environments
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within the gaming, casino, or gambling industry
  • Experience with any browser-based canvas rendering framework such as Pixi / Phaser / Three.js or other
  • Knowledge of rendering pipelines, animation systems, and performance optimisation
  • Work experience with modern AI LLM coding tools, such as Claude Code, Codex, Github Copilot
  • Exposure to automated testing and CI/CD pipelines
  • Understanding of reusable components, libraries and framework development
  • Interest in frontend architecture and platform engineering

Responsibilities

  • Develop frontend engine features and game functionality using TypeScript, React and Pixi / Phaser
  • Build performant user interfaces, animations, and rendering systems
  • Collaborate with Lead and Senior Engineers on architecture and implementation decisions
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
  • Participate in code reviews and technical discussions
  • Support ongoing optimisation, debugging, and performance improvements
  • Work closely with designers, developers, and QA teams to deliver high-quality player experiences
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering practices and standards
