About The Position

Martin/Martin, Inc. is looking for a mid-level structural engineer to join our Structural Engineering Group in our Vail, Colorado office. This engineer will have the opportunity to work on a broad range of project types with many different structural materials. This position will provide opportunities to gain experience in both new building structural design and existing building investigations and retrofits. A typical work week can include drawing development, project coordination, engineering calculations, Construction Administration tasks, and site visits. This position allows for interactions with owners, architects, and contractors as you build relationships throughout the project life cycle. While many of our projects are located in the Rocky Mountain region, Martin/Martin’s national footprint provides opportunities to work on projects around the country. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited engineering curriculum
Registered Professional Engineer (PE)
4-6 years of progressive engineering experience
1 year of professional experience equivalencies include a Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering, OR passing the 16-hour NCEES structural engineering exam
Must be eligible to work for any employer in the United States, without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Ability to work in the Avon and Vail area. Relocation reimbursement may be provided, depending on the role and job function.
Demonstrates ability to be in responsible charge of projects

Nice To Haves

2 years' experience as a Professional Engineer (PE)
Passed the 16-hour structural engineering exam
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Colorado
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Previous experience in investigations including building assessment, report writing, and repair documentation
Ability to design, detail, coordinate, and model small to medium size projects within time and budget constraints

Responsibilities

Engage with clients and contractors as primary point of contact throughout the project life cycle.
Manage and collaborate with engineering and technician staff to produce high-quality project documentation using computer design and graphics software programs.
Act as a mentor and resource for less experienced staff regarding career development, design techniques, software, and code questions.
Develop, monitor, and manage project work plans, schedules, and design budgets.
Build lasting relationships with clients through project work and business development activities.
