About The Position

We are a growing IT company in Sterling, VA looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Mid-Level Accountant to keep our financial operations running smoothly. We need someone who takes ownership of the "money out" process (Accounts Payable) and ensures our team’s time is tracked accurately (Timesheets). This is a perfect role for a solid commercial accountant looking to gain valuable experience in the Government Contracting (GovCon) industry, or a GovCon junior looking to step up. Location: Easy access office in Sterling—skip the Tysons/DC commute.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of general accounting experience (AP, AR, or GL).
• Attention to Detail: You are the person who notices when a date is wrong or a receipt is missing.
• Tech Savvy: Strong proficiency in Excel (sums, filters, basic formulas) and comfort learning new accounting software.
• Communication: Comfortable chasing down approvals and reminding employees to submit timesheets without being abrasive.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent work experience.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Costpoint.
• Experience with ADP or similar payroll platforms.
