About The Position

This role involves operating a 6-passenger van/vehicle to provide microtransit and paratransit services. The driver will be responsible for safely picking up and dropping off passengers at designated locations, adhering to schedules, and ensuring passenger comfort and safety. The position requires a high degree of customer service, particularly with individuals who have disabilities, and adherence to all relevant regulations, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The driver must also maintain vehicle safety through pre-trip and post-trip inspections and accurately complete all required reports.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Current Valid DRIVERS LICENSE (CLASS C) with Passenger Endorsement.
  • Must have a Clean driving history/record.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test and DOT physical.
  • Possess excellent communication (written and verbal) and decision-making skills.
  • Must be able to and willing to work a flexible schedule that may include nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. Keolis does not sponsor visas for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Report to work on-time, in a clean, neat uniform, ready to work.
  • Perform a vehicle pre-trip and post-trip inspection on assigned vehicle(s).
  • Conduct a radio check on assigned buses before leaving the yard.
  • Operate a 6-passenger van/vehicle safely in all types of weather and traffic conditions, according to MDT or driver manifest, including designated pick-up and drop-off locations and times.
  • Pick up and discharge passengers at designated bus stops safely.
  • Regulate heating and ventilating equipment on the bus for passenger comfort.
  • Follow fare collection procedures.
  • Ensure proper two-way Radio Etiquette at all times.
  • Report all accidents, incidents, or unusual occurrences to the dispatch office immediately and submit written reports as required.
  • Accurately complete all reports and strictly adhere to Keolis and client policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to all regulations related to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Correctly operate a wheelchair lift with proper safety restraints as required by the customer.
  • Interact positively with the public and provide transit information to passengers as needed.
  • Maintain a secure environment for passengers, including escorting riders to and from the vehicle and providing physical assistance when requested.
