The role is for a senior-level Microsoft engineer to provide supplemental support to an existing IT team that is currently overwhelmed with daily operations and project backlogs. The primary objective is to modernize the organization's technology infrastructure, particularly focusing on Microsoft technologies, and maximize the investment in their Microsoft A5 licensing. Key responsibilities include: Office 365 Adoption: Driving the full adoption and understanding of Office 365 and Teams. SharePoint & OneDrive Implementation: Leading the setup and configuration of SharePoint and OneDrive. Active Directory Management: Assisting with Active Directory for single sign-on (SSO) and federated identity. Security Standardization: Standardizing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and implementing BitLocker on desktops. Azure Migration & Governance: Architecting and executing the migration of cloud-hosted servers to Azure, and establishing controls and frameworks for Azure instances. Technology Optimization: Performing a fit-gap analysis based on current Microsoft licensing to identify and leverage available features. Project Completion: Taking ownership of and completing stalled projects related to Microsoft infrastructure. Mentorship: Providing mentorship to PC technicians on the team.
