About The Position

Kaimetrix is seeking a Senior Microsoft System Administrator to support enterprise server operations in a secure government environment. This role is responsible for administering, maintaining, and optimizing Microsoft Windows server infrastructure, ensuring reliable performance, security, and availability of mission‑critical systems. The Senior Microsoft System Administrator provides technical leadership, supports system modernization efforts, and applies industry best practices while managing production server environments and mentoring team members.

Requirements

  • Eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in server administration, including supporting and managing servers in a production environment
  • Five (5) years of experience identifying and analyzing server requirements and planning the design and deployment of new technologies and upgrades
  • Five (5) years of experience applying industry best practices to Windows Server 2016 and later, including configuration, implementation, and security
  • Eight (8) years of experience administering Microsoft Windows server environments, including performance monitoring, tuning, and optimization
  • Four (4) years of management experience
  • Three (3) years of experience serving as a team leader, working both independently and as part of a team
  • Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with SBI, with the ability to attain SI, TK, G, HCS, and NATO Secret access
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or Windows Server 2012 / Windows Server 2016 certification
  • DoD 8140.03 IAT Level II / Intermediate certification

Responsibilities

  • Administer, support, and manage servers in a production environment, ensuring high availability and operational reliability
  • Identify and analyze server requirements and plan the design, deployment, and upgrade of new technologies
  • Apply industry best practices for configuration, implementation, and security on Microsoft Windows Server 2016 and later
  • Perform advanced server administration in Microsoft Windows environments, including: Performance monitoring and tuning, Capacity planning, Making recommendations to improve overall system performance and application efficiency
  • Administer and maintain Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP services
  • Lead and participate in technical teams, working both independently and collaboratively
  • Assign and review tasks, set priorities, and track progress to ensure work aligns with organizational goals and deadlines
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior personnel on proper practices and procedures
  • Support system documentation, configuration standards, and operational processes
