Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Applications - Technical Architect

Crowe Advisory LLCDallas, TX
$142,900 - $301,300

About The Position

Crowe is seeking a hands-on Technical Architect specializing in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Applications. This client-facing, individual-contributor role is ideal for an architect who enjoys designing solutions while remaining actively involved in technical delivery. You’ll work across Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Dataverse, Azure, and DevOps, partnering with clients and delivery teams to design, build, troubleshoot, and implement scalable enterprise solutions. This is not a purely strategic, governance, or people-management role. We’re looking for a Technical Architect who remains close to the technology and actively participates in delivery—from building prototypes and reviewing code to designing integrations, troubleshooting issues, establishing deployment pipelines, and supporting go-lives. Success requires a builder mindset, technical curiosity, strong delivery ownership, and a commitment to continuous learning as the Microsoft Business Applications platform evolves.

Requirements

  • 7–10 years of experience designing and delivering enterprise applications using Microsoft technologies.
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations/AX, Customer Engagement, Dataverse, or related Dynamics 365 applications.
  • Technical leadership experience on at least two full-cycle Dynamics 365 implementations.
  • Recent hands-on experience with Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Azure, and related engineering tools.
  • Strong knowledge of Dynamics 365 F&O extensibility, including X++, extensions, data entities, DMF, batch processing, security, and environment management.
  • Experience with Power Platform, Dataverse, REST/OData APIs, Azure integration services, and application lifecycle management.
  • Experience with source control, CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, code reviews, and testing practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and client communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional Dynamics 365 applications, including Finance, Supply Chain, Commerce, Project Operations, Sales, Customer Service, or Field Service.
  • Dual-write, business events, virtual entities, and cross-application integrations.
  • Copilot Studio, AI Builder, generative AI, agents, or related AI capabilities.
  • Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Lake, Power BI, or enterprise data integration.
  • Relevant Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform, or Azure certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Design application, integration, data, security, and environment architecture across Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Dataverse, and Azure.
  • Lead technical delivery from discovery and design through implementation, go-live, and hypercare.
  • Design and implement integrations using APIs, Dataverse, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, API Management, and related technologies.
  • Build prototypes, review code and configurations, and troubleshoot application, integration, deployment, security, and performance issues.
  • Establish engineering and ALM standards, including source control, branching, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, monitoring, and deployment practices.
  • Translate architecture into actionable requirements for developers and consultants while identifying technical risks and dependencies.
  • Support Copilot, Power Platform, automation, and AI-enabled solutions with appropriate security and governance.
  • Lead client technical discussions, architecture workshops, demonstrations, and technical deep dives.
  • Support proposals, estimates, and delivery planning while mentoring developers and consultants.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive total rewards package
