About The Position

Avantiico is hiring a Microsoft BI (Fabric) Engineer to join their Report Practice. This role involves designing and building modern analytics solutions on Microsoft Fabric and Power BI for clients, including Lakehouses, Warehouses, semantic models, pipelines, notebooks, and AI-enabled experiences. It is a client-facing consulting role requiring workshops, requirements gathering, and presentations to senior stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be AI-forward, using modern AI tools for faster delivery. Avantiico is a business automation company and Microsoft Partner specializing in Microsoft Dynamics 365, Microsoft Fabric, Power Platform, and AI-driven business applications. Their Reporting Practice assists clients in manufacturing, distribution, financial services, and other industries in leveraging their D365 and operational data through modern analytics and AI.

Requirements

  • 4+ years hands-on with Microsoft Fabric and/or Azure Synapse (Lakehouses, Warehouses, Pipelines, Notebooks, semantic models), including at least one solution you took to production and can speak about in detail.
  • Strong Power BI: DAX, semantic modeling, performance tuning, and row-level security (RLS).
  • Advanced SQL and Python / PySpark for notebook development.
  • Medallion architecture experience (Bronze / Silver / Gold).
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&SCM or Dataverse integration experience, or willingness to ramp up quickly.
  • Azure Data Factory / Synapse Pipelines.
  • Git / Azure DevOps for source control and deployment.
  • Client-facing consulting experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building real-world AI solutions (e.g., working agent, copilot-style assistant, or automation) and ability to demonstrate and discuss the thinking behind them.
  • Microsoft AI stack experience, or experience with other AI tools and ability to discuss how and why they were used.
  • Experience with a Microsoft Fabric solution all the way to production, including handling source control, releases, performance, cost, and real Microsoft Dynamics 365 data.
  • Current certification a plus, or the ability to obtain within 90 days of employment: DP-600, DP-700. Other preferred certifications include PL-300, AB‑900, AZ-104, AZ-305.
  • Domain experience in manufacturing, energy, financial services, or retail.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build Microsoft Fabric and Azure Synapse solutions (Lakehouses, Warehouses, Pipelines, Notebooks, and semantic models) using a medallion architecture.
  • Develop Power BI semantic models and reports with strong DAX, performance tuning, and row-level security (RLS).
  • Integrate Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management and Dataverse data into Fabric- or Synapse-based analytics environments.
  • Author SQL, Python, and PySpark code for notebook development and data transformation.
  • Build and maintain pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Synapse / Fabric Pipelines.
  • Manage source control, branching, and deployment using Git and Azure DevOps.
  • Run client-facing workshops, design sessions, and status calls; translate business requirements into solutions and present to senior stakeholders.
  • Build AI-enabled experiences on top of client data and use modern AI tools to speed up your own delivery.
  • Write clean documentation and conduct knowledge transfers for clients and team members.
  • Assist in pre-sales/marketing activities including producing written content, short videos, webinars, discovery calls, and in-person presentations.
  • Stay current with Microsoft updates, new features, and best practices.
