About The Position

The Microsoft 365 Copilot Administrator will support the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). This role sits within the ITD – Infrastructure department and is responsible for administering and supporting Microsoft 365 Copilot and related AI services across the enterprise. The administrator serves as the senior Level 3 escalation point for complex Copilot incidents, including integration, permissions, and agent functionality issues. The role also contributes to AI governance, capability reviews, and release readiness, and partners with IAM, Security, and Architecture teams on access controls and integrations. Additional responsibilities include monitoring service performance and adoption and supporting executive reporting.

Requirements

  • 5 years of progressively responsible experience supporting Microsoft 365 in a large enterprise environment, including advanced administration, engineering, or Level 3 support.
  • 2 years of hands-on work with Microsoft cloud automation, Copilot/AI services, Power Platform, or enterprise integrations.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 Copilot.
  • Strong knowledge of SharePoint Online.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Graph.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Strong knowledge of Power Platform.
  • Strong knowledge of Copilot Studio.
  • Strong knowledge of Copilot Chat, including Copilot Cowork.
  • Experience with ITIL-based service management practices.
  • Experience troubleshooting identity, permissions, and cloud service integrations.
  • Candidates must currently reside in the Austin, Texas area.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support Microsoft 365 Copilot and related AI services, including licensing, configuration, service health, feature enablement, and credit allocation and monitoring.
  • Evaluate and implement new Copilot capabilities and releases.
  • Maintain service documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
  • Serve as the senior Level 3 escalation point for complex Copilot incidents, troubleshooting Microsoft Graph grounding, SharePoint and Teams integrations, permissions and data access issues, agent functionality, connector and integration failures, and credit controls.
  • Manage Microsoft support escalations and root cause analysis.
  • Provide advanced solutioning for Copilot agent use case enablement.
  • Participate in AI governance, capability reviews, and release readiness assessments, and support capability intake, pilot programs, production releases, and lifecycle management.
  • Identify operational risks, dependencies, and support requirements.
  • Partner with IAM, Security, and Architecture teams on access controls and AI integrations, supporting Microsoft Graph, SharePoint, Power BI, Power Platform, and Copilot Studio connectivity and validating connector configurations and enterprise integrations.
  • Monitor service performance, adoption, and utilization metrics, develop and maintain operational dashboards and service health reporting, and support executive reporting and AI value realization efforts.
