About The Position

CTG is seeking to fill a Microsoft 365 Architect position for our client. This role involves providing technical architecture and subject matter expertise for an accelerated Microsoft 365 tenant-to-tenant migration for approximately 1,500 users. The architect will be responsible for developing and documenting the migration approach, architecture, sequencing, and technical strategy, as well as evaluating and recommending migration tools and providing configuration guidance. The role requires technical leadership and hands-on guidance for the migration of Exchange Online email, OneDrive, and SharePoint content, supporting all phases from planning and configuration to testing, cutover, and troubleshooting. A comprehensive migration runbook, including procedures, dependencies, validation steps, rollback considerations, and hypercare activities, needs to be developed. The architect will also create or provide required scripts and automation, identify and mitigate technical risks, and provide knowledge transfer and mentoring to client resources. Collaboration with technical teams and stakeholders is essential to ensure alignment with the approved architecture and project objectives, with ongoing technical guidance and issue resolution support provided throughout the migration.

Requirements

  • Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft 365 architecture and administration.
  • Proven experience with Microsoft 365 tenant-to-tenant migrations.
  • Strong knowledge of Exchange Online, OneDrive, and SharePoint Online migration processes.
  • Experience evaluating and configuring Microsoft 365 migration tools.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Entra ID, identity, authentication, permissions, and tenant configurations.
  • Experience developing migration strategies, runbooks, scripts, and technical documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership in an accelerated migration environment.
  • Excellent communication and knowledge-transfer skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively with distributed technical teams.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a Microsoft 365 Architect or SME on tenant-to-tenant migration projects.
  • Direct experience planning and executing migrations involving approximately 1,500 or more users.
  • Hands-on experience migrating Exchange Online email, OneDrive, and SharePoint content between Microsoft 365 tenants.
  • Experience providing migration tooling recommendations, configuration guidance, and technical leadership.
  • Experience creating migration runbooks and scripts to support repeatable migration activities.
  • Experience supporting cutover, validation, troubleshooting, and post-migration hypercare.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience transferring knowledge to internal technical resources is strongly preferred.
  • Microsoft 365 or related Microsoft certifications are preferred.

  • Provide ongoing technical guidance throughout the migration and assist with issue resolution as needed.
