About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-starting Microfluidics Engineer to join our Engineering Department. This full-time, onsite role is based at our Oakville, Ontario HQ. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with assembling and testing microfluidic devices, eager to advance microfluidics technology, and proactive in identifying and resolving issues. A strong communicator and team player, you will collaborate with a cross-functional team to meet deliverables and contribute to bringing a product to market that will be used by people. The compensation for this role ranges from $70,000 to $80,000 per year, determined by demonstrated experience, education, training, certifications, and other relevant factors.

Requirements

• Masters or Ph.D. degree in Bioengineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science or a related discipline
• Extensive hands-on experience and a proven track record with microfluidic systems
• Intimate knowledge of microfluidics materials and manufacturing processes

Nice To Haves

• 2+ years of industry experience, specifically relating to product development of IVD systems
• Knowledge of chemistry-based surface modification and related areas
• Broad knowledge of material science, immunology, microbiology and other related fields
• Proficient with general purpose computation software (Python, etc.) and other data analysis tools
• Working knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, model, fabricate, and test innovative microfluidic sample handling systems
• Utilize microfluidic systems for medical or diagnostics systems (IVD)
• Transfer methods to other internal or external partners and support the collaboration through timely result analysis
• Communicate analytical results to peers and leadership to support decision-making
• Collaborate with development teams to support goals and timelines
