About The Position

HCA Healthcare Laboratory Services is seeking a Microbiology Technologist to perform microbiology and/or serology testing and support accurate, timely diagnostic results. The role applies laboratory medicine concepts and independent judgment, performs specimen-handling duties, and contributes to departmental service, quality, regulatory compliance, financial performance, patient satisfaction, and a healthy work environment. The position is PRN, with shifts from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and alternating weekends.

Requirements

Associate degree in a science field.
State of Florida Technologist License, or ability to obtain a license during the interview process.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology.
Technical specialty in Microbiology with additional experience in Serology/Immunology.
Two years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting is helpful.

Responsibilities

Perform stat and routine microbiology and/or serology testing.
Apply theoretical concepts of laboratory medicine and independent judgment to ensure timely and accurate results.
Perform non-technical duties, including receiving, processing, storing, and retrieving specimens and submitting samples for referral testing as required.
Support department goals for service, quality, regulatory compliance, financial performance, patient satisfaction, a healthy work environment, and integration of intra- and interdepartmental activities.
