About The Position
The Microbiology Lab Technician will be responsible for collecting and preparing product samples for microbiological analysis. The Simplot Company is a diverse, privately held global food and agriculture company headquartered in Boise, Idaho. We are a true farm-to-table company with an integrated portfolio including food processing and food brands, phosphate mining, fertilizer manufacturing, farming, ranching and cattle production, and other enterprises related to agriculture.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 1+ years related experience and/or training
- Basic math skills
- Good knowledge of computer systems and calculator
- Ability to work in refrigerated and frozen environments
- Good communication skills
- Needs to be organized, efficient, and have Good time man
Responsibilities
- Collects and prepares product samples for microbiological analysis.
- Documents sample ID and microorganism growth results.
- Promptly communicates findings that fall outside allowable limits.
- Responsible for inventory of micro lab supplies.
- Stores and maintains retention samples.
- Reconciliation of daily micro log with the inventory system to ensure all production samples are plated.
- Manage positive release of product in inventory system.
- Samples purchased products (micro-testing and grading).
- Other duties assigned by department management.
