Requirements

Minimum age of 18 years
High school diploma or equivalent
Dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to accuracy
Ability to multitask and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment
Strong team player who thrives in a collaborative setting
Willingness to learn new technology and laboratory processes
Familiarity with patient confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines
Reliable attendance and punctuality

Nice To Haves

Previous specimen processing or laboratory experience preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

Assist Medical Laboratory Scientists (MLSs) and Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLTs) with laboratory activities, including specimen processing, sample plating, and other preparatory procedures
Operate automated instruments, electronic systems, and precision tools, and perform basic troubleshooting as needed
Participate in proficiency testing and quality assurance activities
Maintain accurate documentation, answer phones professionally, and protect patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA requirements
Follow established laboratory safety and infection control procedures
Perform additional duties as operational needs evolve, with opportunities to gain laboratory experience and develop new skills
