Entry Level Microbiologist- 2nd Shift
About The Position
This role is Second Shift, Tuesday-Saturday. The primary responsibilities include completing all training in a timely and complete manner, working with an experienced analyst/mentor performing various tasks and analyses of Bio/pharmaceutical ingredients and products. The role also involves reviewing or preparing standards and samples for analysis, running equipment or instrumentation independently and/or with guidance, and working efficiently. A key aspect of the job is ensuring that the client receives quality data by reviewing laboratory data for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to GMP and/or GLP regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in microbiology, biology, or related degree concentration
- Ability to work in the US without immediate or future sponsorship
- Microscopes and biological safety cabinets
- Media preparation
- Pipetting
- Organism/culture preparation
- Serial dilution
- Aseptic technique
- Use MS Windows applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook email
Responsibilities
- Applies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate
- Applies the highest quality standard in all areas of responsibility
- Demonstrates strong client service skills, communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Meets all quality and productivity metrics and demonstrates strong teamwork and collaboration
- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Performs laboratory operations with good dexterity, good laboratory technique, and high degree of accuracy and precision
- Perform/Review preparations of reagents, samples, and standards according to procedures.
- Document testing, observations, deviations, and results clearly and completely, and in compliance with regulatory requirements - striving to minimize errors
- Read and understand analytical procedures (compendial and client supplied) and internal SOP's
- Use MS Windows applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook email
- Process data, generate reports, and evaluate data
- Perform laboratory maintenance and maintain clean workspace
- Commitment to occasional overtime as workload requires
