This position ensures product quality as it relates to raw material, components, product, and environmental microbial testing. The role involves performing job duties in a laboratory and clean room environment, which requires specific clean room gowning procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE). The Microbiologist I will assist in environmental monitoring, aseptic gowning qualifications, and process simulations. They will perform routine quality control product testing on pharmaceutical items under GMP and ISO conditions, as well as utilities sampling and testing. The role also includes assisting with laboratory setup, media and solution preparation, incubation and enumeration of organisms, and maintaining stock cultures. Accurate record-keeping according to GMP guidelines is essential, along with providing EM data support, assisting with investigations for environmental excursions and lab deviations, and contributing to trend reporting and data analysis. Additionally, the position involves training other department members on specific processes and techniques, operating under minimal supervision, and performing other related duties as required.
