About The Position

This is a 6-month fixed-term opportunity to support the Merchandise team with high-performing planogram layouts for strong commercial outcomes. The role involves translating category strategies into effective layouts that drive commercial results and enhance the customer discovery experience. Reporting to the Merchandise Optimisation Specialist, you will collaborate with category teams to develop planograms aligned with strategic priorities, key initiatives, and range and space metrics. The position can be based in either Sydney (Barangaroo office hub) or Melbourne (Richmond office hub).

Requirements

  • Relevant graduate qualification (e.g., business studies or a quantitative discipline) or equivalent work experience.
  • Technical skills associated with coding/formula building logic, automation, and logical problem-solving.
  • Advanced data manipulation skills within software such as Google Sheets & Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to engage with a range of stakeholders to scope and develop potential solutions upfront.
  • Ability to communicate range optimization insights from data in a compelling way.
  • Experience in managing delivery in-line with timelines.
  • Prior experience with a coding language for business analysis purposes (GCP: BigQuery & DataStudio visualization preferred).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with BY Space/Floor/Range or TCS Optumera products.
  • Other Space and Merchandising software.
  • Proven track record of delivering major reviews/work responsibilities on time.
  • Clustering methodology and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop store-specific, data-led planograms using industry-standard tools, ensuring optimal sales density and stock turn for every SKU, in line with review timelines.
  • Leverage range and space tools to validate decisions, ensuring all layouts are supported by strong commercial logic and customer behavior insights.
  • Produce and analyze reports to support recommendations for category reviews.
  • Build collaborative relationships with key business stakeholders, particularly Range & Space and Commercial teams, to support all aspects of planogram creation and implementation.
  • Demonstrate agility and resilience in managing shifting priorities and late-stage range review changes.
  • Troubleshoot system issues that may impact product ranging.
