About The Position

Seneca Foods in Rochester, MN is currently seeking a Micro Lab Technician to join our team. Requirements

  • Sample collection and following aseptic techniques to ensure samples are collected, handled, and processed accurately
  • Prepare sample for analysis by recording, weighing and blending
  • Organizing samples for specific tests dependent of product code and customer requirements
  • Prepare media for various test methods and record quality check information
  • Responsible for proper disposal of hazards such as autoclaving
  • Tracking samples after they have been received and accepted for analysis, maintaining the identity and integrity of the sample throughout the testing process
  • Collecting samples and maintaining proper chain of custody
  • Maintain proper housekeeping
  • Maintain a safe working environment and takes precautions in preventing product and/or equipment damages and losses
  • Calibrates and operates lab testing equipment
  • Support corporate quality and continuous improvement process
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs or more, including up-stairs
  • Standing for extended period of time
  • Using hands for extended periods of time
  • Walking throughout the lab and production environment
  • Bending and kneeling
