MHT - Outpatient- FT Days
About The Position
This position supports and implements the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of The Maples. The MHT demonstrates teamwork by carrying out routine and assigned tasks within The Maples program. They assist clinicians with patient care tasks and therapists with therapeutic interventions. The MHT also assists in maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu by monitoring and complying with program rules and policies. They observe patients in accordance with prescriber orders and facility policy, documenting and reporting significant findings to the shift nurse immediately. The MHT conducts and documents safety rounds per policy and provides assistance in managing patients who exhibit escalating behavior, in accordance with hospital training and policy. They document client activities, significant occurrences, observed behavior, vital signs, and other findings as assigned by nursing staff and determined by facility policy. Additionally, the MHT assists patients in completing Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as needed, which may include hygiene, grooming, toileting, eating, and other functions. The role requires flexibility, a willingness to work with others, and the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and offer solutions. The MHT consistently demonstrates vision, foresight, good judgment, and customer sensitivity, modeling productive, healthy behavior and interactions. They perform their job with efficiency, organizing and prioritizing work while being cost-effective and conserving resources. The MHT deals constructively with stress, offers and accepts constructive feedback, and responds appropriately to direction. Punctuality and adherence to attendance and dress code policies are expected. The role requires good physical and mental health, evidenced by a warm, empathic attitude, respect for the dignity and worth of others, and a high sense of personal integrity. Other duties and special projects may be assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. is required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- One year experience in a clinical setting required
- Proficient in English language
- Certification in Basic Life Support
- Certification in non-violent crisis intervention
Nice To Haves
- One year experience in a behavioral healthcare setting preferred

- Conducts and documents safety rounds per policy
- Provides assistance in management of patients who exhibit escalating behavior, in accordance with hospital training and policy
- Documents client activities, significant occurrences, observed behavior, vital signs, and other findings as assigned by the nursing staff and determined by facility policy
- Assists patients in completing Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as needed. This may include hygiene, grooming, toileting, eating, and other functions
- Displays flexibility and willingness to work with others
- Identifies opportunities for improvement and offers solutions; discusses with appropriate personnel (i.e., supervisors)
